What records do you need from a freight or logistics company?

Records that show how freight actually moved: load history, tenders and rate cons, dispatch and tracking updates, exceptions and claims, billing, and carrier and customer email. You don't need all of them. One well-documented system can qualify. The usual bar is 30+ employees, 3+ years of records and a US base, with records kept in real business systems.

Do we give up ownership of our data?

No. You license a copy. Your original records stay in your systems, untouched, and you keep ownership. You approve the exact systems and date ranges in writing before anything is exported, and you can leave out any inbox, folder, tool or period. Nothing leaves until you sign.

How are customer, carrier and driver details handled?

Records are de-identified before delivery. Every person, customer, carrier, company name, address and account number in the agreed copy is replaced with a placeholder or removed. That includes your drivers, dispatchers and office staff. Highly sensitive fields, such as payment details and Social Security numbers, are removed entirely.

How much work is this for our team?

Usually a few hours from whoever administers your TMS, accounting and email. There's no cost to you, and you're never invoiced. The buyer pays Renaissance Data Lab a finder's fee when a deal closes. It doesn't come out of your offer and is disclosed in writing before you sign. Typically, it takes about 60 to 90 days from first call to payment.

Our shipper contracts and broker-carrier agreements have confidentiality clauses. Can we still take part?

That depends on your contracts and professional obligations, and we don't give legal advice. Check with your own counsel. The buyer's legal team reviews scope with you before any export. Any system, inbox, folder or period you are unsure about can be left out of the scope.

Does the eligibility check commit us to anything?

No. The check is free, takes about a minute and creates no obligation. If you qualify, the final offer comes in writing after a review of your actual systems and data volume. Nothing leaves your systems until you sign.
